Except for the strong heartfelt version of Jimmy LaFave's 'Desperate Men' (to which he adds backing vocals) and Will T. Massey's 'You Take the Town' all the songs are self-penned. The ominous toned talking blues of 'Killing America's Soul' and the lilting rythms of 'Ireland' are highlights. The songwriting is strong and the musicianship and arrangements on the disc are excellent thanks to the expert production hand of Lloyd Maines and some well known musicians including John Inmom, Paul Pearcy, Darcy Deauville, and Gene Elders. This is a very good CD that bodes well for the future of this promising duo.
